NAWIC x Paynters Constructing HER Career Event
Last week, we partnered with NAWIC, TAFE Queensland, and the Workforce Australia Local Jobs Program and many other industry partners to host the Constructing HER Career – Women in Construction event in Townsville.
A large group of young women came together at the TAFE Townsville Trade Training Centre (Bohle) to explore the wide range of career pathways our industry has to offer — from design and contracts administration to engineering, project management, and beyond.
The day began with a Q&A Panel featuring Paynters Senior Project Manager, Paul Goldsack, and Senior Contracts Administrator, Catherine Robinson, who shared their insights and experiences. This was followed by an Ask the Experts session, showcasing the variety of opportunities available in our industry. The day concluded with interactive rotations, including a tour of the brand-new training facility built by Paynters, and hands-on experiences with virtual and augmented reality technology, manufacturing equipment, and project management workshops.
This was an incredible opportunity for young women to gain a deeper understanding of the many possibilities available to them, while also highlighting the importance and benefits of greater diversity within our industry.
At Paynters, we’re passionate about creating opportunities for the next generation. Throughout our 2025 Paynters Pathways programs, we’re proud to have achieved 50% female participation across work experience and traineeships. We remain committed to supporting initiatives that attract more women to construction and ensure they are supported to succeed and stay.
