Paving the Way for Women in Trades

Last week, Paynters partnered with CSQ & TAFE Queensland to host an all female Try A Trade at our Bohle TAFE construction site, where we are currently constructing the new Hydrogen and Renewable Energy Building.

Over 20 female students from William Ross State High School & St Patrick’s College tried their hands at an array of trades, including furnishing, civil construction painting and decorating. The students were also given a tour of the current site works, providing exposure to the real-life workings of a construction project.

These Try A Trade events offer students an interactive experience, allowing them to delve into multiple trades and providing an opportunity to connect with women already established in the industry.  Our team members, Hannah & Taylah, passionately shared their own journeys within the construction field, shedding light on the numerous opportunities available for women and offering guidance on how to embark on this exciting career path.

Paynters are truly dedicated to nurturing the next generation of construction professionals and we hope this event has motivated these talented young women to embrace the possibilities and embark on a fulfilling career in construction. 👷‍♀️
