Building Skills & Knowledge at Adventist Retirement Village Victoria Point
Our Building Cadets, Contracts Administrators, and Apprentices had an informative learning experience at our Adventist Retirement Village site at Victoria Point. Paynters is currently on site constructing 18 new Independent Living Units (ILUs) for our long-term client Seventh-Day Adventist.
These ILUs are designed with the older community in mind, supporting their desire for independence while catering to varying levels of support that may be required. Unlike our typical projects given the residential nature of the buildings, the project team has adopted timber wall frames and trusses as part of their construction methodology.
Our Site Manager Rhys led a presentation focused on sharing insights into timber frame construction and the benefits this type of construction can offer. Following this, Rhys, Project Manager Brad and the team walked the site to visualise first-hand the application of these methods at varying stages of the construction process.
This opportunity allowed our young construction professionals to gain hands on experience and deepen their understanding of construction processes. We are incredibly proud to have team members like Rhys and Brad, whose leadership, enthusiasm, and guidance lays the foundation for the future minds of our industry.
