Historic Church Roof Replacement
Following a fire incident, Paynters was commissioned under a Managed Cost arrangement to oversee the roof replacement of this historic church situated in Coolah, Regional New South Wales.
The intricate roof structure featured a steeply pitched hardwood timber frame and a rare ‘pressed’ galvanised and painted wide pan roof sheet with unique motifs. Our focus became maintaining the authenticity of the original roof’s historical details while also ensuring engineering compliance.
Our dedicated Sydney insurance team swiftly organised a sheet to be removed and transported to a specialised metal pressing workshop based in Sydney. This step aimed to assess the feasibility of reproducing new identical roof panels. Through extensive investigation and collaboration with many stakeholders, the roof was successfully restored to its original state, leaving the client delighted with the outcome.
