A team from Paynters attended the Winnam Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islanders Corporation National Sorry Day Commemoration Ceremony at Breakwater Park, along the Wynnum foreshore this morning.

National Sorry Day is an important opportunity to reflect, listen and acknowledge the strength, resilience and enduring cultures of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples, while recognising the impacts of the Stolen Generations.

It was a meaningful morning of community, connection and respect, and we’re grateful to have joined alongside local Elders and leaders, students and community members to commemorate the day.  It was especially powerful to see so many local schools represented, with strong and proud young First Nations people sharing their cultural identity with confidence and pride.

Thank you to the team at Winnam Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islanders Corporation for hosting such an important event and creating a space for reflection, learning and unity.
