New Learning Facilities for Growing School in Central Queensland
Parkhurst State School required new General Learning Areas (GLAs) to cope with the uptake in student enrolments. Paynters were engaged for the construction of the new two-storey building, which was built on purchased neighbouring land, allowing for the school to reduce its current percentage of demountable classrooms.
The new facility includes six classrooms on the top floor, a staff collaboration space and an outdoor arts and science learning space – catering to flexible learning options.
With the school located in close proximity to local residents and on the main Yaamba Road/Bruce Highway, careful planning and consideration was given to ensure the safety of students, staff, parents and the surrounding community members.
Working within an operational campus, it was imperative that Paynters maintained uninterrupted education delivery. The school community were incredibly pleased with the project process and are very much enjoying their new additions on campus!
