Paynters deliver 3rd project for award winning client in Bowen

Following on from the successful delivery of the new 32-bed care unit expansion at Murroona Gardens, Paynters has now completed a major refurbishment to their Wattle Wing facility. This project represents a long association between Paynters and the Board of Murroona Gardens, being the fourth phase of a staged redevelopment program over 10 years for this organisation.

The rejuvenation of the 36 year old Wattle Wing building has provided larger modern suites for residents as well as attractive and inviting communal amenities that have improved connections to the external environment. For this project, the careful and considered design marries with the clients business and strategic planning resulting in a vibrant, warm and visually uplifting environment.

Paynters enhanced the entry of the Wattle Wing with landscaping and upgrades to the external appearance of the building, developing a contemporary design through the introduction of decorative screening, rendering and painting, while incorporating Murroona Garden’s new corporate branding. A new café, administration area, reception/foyer and a functional Wellness Centre was also added. The large communal dining and activities area had a ‘face lift’, now boasting a chapel, theatre, sitting area and library.

There was a focused redevelopment of FF&E (furniture, fixtures and equipment) coordinated by the Paynters In-House Interiors Design team in collaboration with the client, putting the ‘icing on the cake’ for the exciting new refurbishment project.

The Board, senior management and care/service teams are delighted with their ‘new’ facility. Celebrating the project handover, Chairman of Board, Gary Martin, publicly expressed his appreciation for Paynters long-term commitment to Murroona Gardens in the Whitsunday Times, “The Paynters team has been involved from the start in the planning stages, and the design stages.
