Infrastructure

Paynters undertook the construction of concrete pavements and covered structures for storage and operational requirements at the Energy Queensland Limited (EQL) Glenmore Road Depot for the preparation of the power poles for the electricity network.

Major elements of the project included:

  • Concrete works – pad footings and column pedestals, concrete slab on ground with articulation joints extending to the confines of existing kerbs.
  • Structural steelwork – two independent portal frame (open shed) structures.
  • Plumbing – pipe and pit infrastructure to collect stormwater runoff and roof water.
  • Electrical – power, lighting, and security services.

The project was situated amidst the largest Energy Queensland depot in Central Queensland which consisted of all the operations of Ergon at the facility. Specific travel routes and times were established for access to the site especially for cranes and large equipment to enter the site early in the mornings to work in with the operations of the EQL workforce.
