Townsville Turf Club

Paynters has recently completed the refurbishment of both the Members Grandstand and Heritage listed Public Grandstand. The re-development of the Townsville Turf Club occurred as a result of the 2019 floods that devastated the Townsville region, with the new facilities including a new Members precinct with a modernised sports bar and dining area and exclusive Member’s lounge and bar.

The design brief was to modernise and future-proof the facility for another 150 years, but also to honour the heritage of the site and the buildings.

With the main heritage grandstand, the main focus was to transform the space in an attempt to bring it back to life, and closer to what it was 100 years ago when it was built.
