Rewarding regional redevelopments
Funded by the Qld Government’s Advancing our Training Infrastructure program, the Pimlico TAFE project has now received accolades in Townsville overnight, being crowned best Education facility over $10mil for the region.
The project meant a huge deal to local community, with the Pimlico campus now positioned as TAFE’s first specialised contemporary non-trade training centre focusing on hair & beauty, hospitality & nursing.
The new two-storey teaching block was a 4,000 square metre extension to the existing D Block which includes a state-of-the-art hospitality training café and commercial training kitchen; hairdressing and beauty salon; and a simulated nursing ward.
The design of the building also incorporates a modern learning hub to promote collaboration amongst the 900+ students using the facility. In addition to an IT and communications lab, the new facility comprises a dedicated wet lab and creative industries area.
This is all in addition to a modern library & IT service area, as well as offering multiple vibrant and engaging general learning areas and flexible teaching rooms. A stunning addition & a job well done to our team in Townsville!
