An incredible effort by Paynter Dixon Queensland, securing the Major Award in Diversity at the Master Builders Queensland Housing and Construction Awards last Friday. PDQ were recognised for their Regional Training and Development Program, developed by PDQ’s Rue Grimston and Daniel Dunne.

The program was implemented to support and educate Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander businesses in remote communities on industry tender processes, contracts administration, safety and quality requirements along with upskilling and training opportunities.

In conjunction with the education of businesses, PDQ’s program also provided awareness training for site workers and subcontractors, highlighting the benefits of utilising funded training. These information sessions assisted PDQ in meeting training policy requirements and directed the end users to the appropriate funding and training organisations.

The Regional Development Program has created key partnerships with Construction Skills Queensland, TAFE North and DATSIP, which has allowed training and upskilling to occur across a number of key regional areas.

We could not be more proud of our team’s passion for driving workforce opportunities in this industry, and thank Dan, Rue and the PDQ Townsville team for their hard work and dedication to this initiative. The program has already been an incredible success, as Paynter Dixon Queensland continue to pave the way as industry leaders in regional training!
