Our recent site visit to Everleigh State School – Stage 2 was an incredible learning experience for our Contracts Administrators, Cadets, and Project Coordinators. The project team shared their insights on using light gauge steel wall frames and trusses as an alternative to timber.

With the structure now complete and roof sheeting about to commence, these key milestones allowed the team to delve into the technical aspects of the project, helping to upskill our younger team members.

Senior Contracts Administrator, Tom and Senior Project Manager, Shane showcased the innovative design work completed with the FRAMECAD Cold-Formed Steel Building System. They highlighted how they overcame coordination challenges with structural steel using 3D modelling and guided the team through the site, showing the seamless transition from 3D model to reality.

Tom and Shane also discussed the benefits they’ve experienced, such as quicker install times due to the prefabricated and lightweight nature of the product, and shared valuable lessons they’ve learned along the way.

These site tours are invaluable for our team, offering exposure to various projects at different construction stages and providing essential learning opportunities. We are grateful to have mentors like Tom and Shane, whose guidance is shaping the next generation of construction professionals.
