‘Topping out’ at Burpengary SSC
Paynters is making headway on the new General Learning Centre for Burpengary State Secondary College. Our Site Manager, Paynters driving force on-site, is pushing trade progress along successfully, making up for the lost time which occurred earlier in the project due to a month of rain in February.
The works have just ‘topped out’ and we are entering the finishes stage of the work with plastering, rendering and applied finishes commencing on site.
Glen Carey, Engagement Manager from Construction Skills Queensland, and Steve Gaske, from CBUS, attended the site last week for a BBQ and ToolBox session to present information to the workers regarding current training opportunities as well as benefits of CBUS Superannuation. From the BBQ there has been multiple requests for upskilling in a range of areas, with our HSEQ Coordinator planning future training sessions for the workers which will be facilitated on-site in the coming weeks.
The Department of Education, Lambert & Rehbein, Paynters, Cobie Architects and the sub consultant group have worked together collaboratively and effectively to meet the client specific needs within the design documentation. Burpengary State Secondary College has noted the positive experience they have enjoyed to-date with Paynters in the progressive achievement of this exciting new building within the heart of the school campus.
