Turning that sod at New Farm!
Last week’s site tour saw a large turn out at New Farm State School, breaking soil at what will be a phenomenal addition to the primary school.
The Hon Minister for Education, Grace Grace led the duties this morning, joined by Principal Carmel McGrath and Paynters General Manager, Brett Johnston and Apprentice Nick Duffy.
Brett Johnston said, “This development will be a welcome asset to the New Farm community, having spent several years in the making to ensure the facilities are both aesthetically pleasing and practical for students.”
“20 Apprentices will actively work on site during project delivery, within the Paynters team and through our subcontractor network. As a business we are committed to ensuring that we inspire individuals to pursue a career in construction and we are proud of the leaps we have made in recent years.” said Mr Johnston.
The State school is set to watch the construction of a new multi-storey learning centre, administration and resource centre. Works also include relocation of existing houses and demolition of a demountable building in the heart of the school.
Paynters commenced early works late last year and will hand over before the school year starts in 2022.
