Paynters has delivered the first phase of the Ipswich Hospital expansion to West Moreton Health with the completion of the Tower Block Level 7 refurbishment. The overall expansion project includes a new 26-bed ward and refurbishment of Tower Block levels 6 and 7.

The design and construction of these Tower Block levels will provide allied health consulting and treatment rooms, oncology and day infusion treatment, audiology services, a hand clinic, flexible outpatient consultation spaces, communication rooms, staff facilities and workspaces. The successful first stage has been achieved through collaborative teamwork between our team and those at Ipswich Hospital, West Moreton Health and CPM Project Management.

The next stage of the expansion, on Level 6, is due for completion by the middle of 2021. Once Level 6 Tower Block is completed, the hospital will decant staff and patients from an adjacent area of the hospital into the new facilities.

These works will make way for the final stage, the redevelopment of Ward 6D, to provide a new 26-bed ward for the West Moreton community.

These projects have been funded by the Queensland Government as part of Stage 1A of West Moreton Health’s 15-year Master Plan.

At all stages of the expansion, Paynters has been working within a busy hospital with minimal disruption to services, staff and patients.

Our team has delivered similar projects at Caboolture Hospital and draws on this experience to support the healthcare needs of the rapidly growing population of West Moreton.
