Behind the Scenes at Redland Bay Roof Trusses!

As part of our ongoing learning initiatives, members of our SEQ construction team recently toured the Redland Bay Roof Trusses facility, with a deep dive into the world of timber frames and trusses.

RBRT, a valued Paynters subcontractor, provided us with key insights, including:

• The complete process of the design and manufacture of prefabricated timber wall frames, roof and floor (Posi) trusses, including material resourcing, engineering, and prefab stages.
• Capabilities for onsite rectification of manufacturing errors and troubleshooting with clients.
• Implementation of technologies and innovations in the fabrication process to:
  • Efficiently cut lengths to reduce wastage of treated pine.
  • Introduce systems that reduce the risk of injuries for factory carpenters.
• Frequently encountered obstacles impacting lead times and onsite progress, including integration with structural steel.

This opportunity allowed our team to deepen their understanding and further enhance their skills in timber frame and truss manufacturing.
