Building Futures in Doomadgee
Last week, Paynters was proud to collaborate with Construction Skills Queensland (CSQ) and the Doomadgee Aboriginal Shire Council to bring an immersive virtual reality experience and construction discussion to the remote community of Doomadgee.
Participants were given a unique opportunity to step into the world of construction through a virtual lens, exploring both civil and residential sites. This hands-on experience opened up a world of possibilities, shedding light on the diverse and rewarding career paths within the construction industry.
We were honoured to have our very own Grant Marshall return to Doomadgee. As an Eastern Arrernte man, Grant shared his inspiring journey from starting as an apprentice carpenter, building homes in remote communities like Doomadgee, to rising to his current role as Paynters Indigenous Engagement Manager. His story is a powerful testament to resilience, hard work, and the importance of giving back to the community.
A heartful thank you to CSQ for facilitating this valuable experience and to the Doomadgee community for their warm welcome.
