Fire up the BBQs [Battle of the Site BBQs for Mental Health]
We’ve fired up our fourth year of our “Battle of the Site BBQs for Mental Health”, continuing a tradition that began in 2021!
What started as a bit of friendly competition between our sites, has grown into an annual event that we’re incredibly proud of. This September, our teams are once again lighting up their BBQs, battling it out to see who can raise the most funds for mental health—and we need your support to make 2024 our best year yet!
It’s more than just sizzling sausages and BBQ burgers—it’s about serving up meaningful conversations around mental health. The following four construction teams will be heating up their BBQs every Friday throughout September:
📍 SEQ Everleigh State School – Stage 2, Greenbank
📍 CQ Mercy Haven RACF, Rockhampton
📍 CQ Gladstone SHS – New ITD Building, Gladstone
📍 NQ Ayr SHS – New Multipurpose Hall, Ayr / Kirwan Social Housing, Townsville
This year, all proceeds will go to TIACS, a professional mental health counselling service that’s making a real difference for tradies, truckies, farmers, and blue-collar workers. Mental health is critical in our industry, where the pressure of deadlines, physical demands, and isolation often take a toll. TIACS provides a lifeline to workers who might not otherwise reach out, and we’re honoured to support their vital work.
We’d greatly appreciate your help in raising as much money as possible for this worthy cause. Even if you can’t be on-site, your contribution from afar still makes an impact, as we work to raise awareness, reduce stigma, and allow others to provide direct support to those doing it tough in our industry.
Let’s spark the conversations, one BBQ at a time!
