Paynters Deliver Lifesaving Laboratory Project
A lifesaving medical laboratory is now up, running and servicing the Townsville community thanks to tremendous efforts of our Paynters North Queensland team.
Townsville Hospital and Heath Service engaged Paynters to complete a complex and meticulous fit out of vacant space within the University Hospital campus, delivering a cutting-edge Cleanroom Laboratory. This Pharmaceutical Manufacturing Unit (PMU) produces lifesaving medications for patients battling serious health conditions and was one of Paynters most intricate deliveries to date.
The construction works presented next to no room for error, with the scope involving grade D to B cleanrooms, delivery and commissioning of grade A safety cabinets and isolator, progressive envelope integrity testing, independently commissioned mechanical systems, full BMS and EMS monitoring, and also involved construction of a new dedicated roofed plant room a floor above the new PMU.
Congratulations to our project team for handing over this unique and challenging project, delivered in live hospital environment above the hospital’s cancer treatment unit and linac bunkers.
We are proud to see this vital infrastructure project operating successfully, changing the lives of many families in the North Queensland region.
