Paynters training and development program reaching new heights
In collaboration with CSQ & TAFE North Qld, Paynters have been working tirelessly to host educational training nights in recent months. These evenings have been well received by delegates and subcontractors alike, informing Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander businesses of tender processes, safety requirements and training opportunities.
Earlier this year, Paynters was awarded funding by CSQ after completing a compelling submission in support of Indigenous engagement and initiatives in educating subcontractors on tendering processes & everything in between! It was this passion and drive for a new program that saw CSQ engage Paynters to become an industry leader in regional training.
Regional Training & Development Manager, Rue Grimston has mentioned that it’s about giving back to the local community and really driving the workforce in which Paynters rely upon. “At the end of the day, if we can successfully help an Aboriginal & Torres Strait Islander business obtain a few jobs through our workshops and develop positive, professional relationships then we will be very proud” said Ms Grimston.
It’s important to our company that we ensure that all subcontractors are given equal opportunity to work alongside us on these wonderful projects that stimulate our local economies. “It’s also really important to us that we inform subcontractors of safety requirements and training opportunities so that we provide a safer workforce, allowing everyone to go home to their families each and every day” said Ms Grimston.
A team from Paynters attended and spoke at yesterday’s Procurement & Networking event in Rockhampton, aimed at informing Aboriginal & Torres Strait Islander businesses of upcoming projects within the region. The day, hosted by DATSIP was a very successful day, one that shall lead to some positive changes within the local area.
Paynters next information night will be held on the 26th June with more information to follow shortly – stay tuned!
