Club Malua Bowls Club
In January 2020, Paynters was engaged via a Managed Cost contract for the claim for Club Malua Bowls Club on the South Coast of NSW following the devastating Australian summer of bushfires.
The entire bowls club was destroyed, yet remarkably the bowling greens were left untouched.
Following swift and decisive action by Paynters, working with the local council and multiple hazards including asbestos contaminated materials, live solar panels and a severely compromised structure, the club was one of the first in the region approved to be demolished.
With so much devastation, Paynters was compelled to provide a solution for the insured and the community and provide some normality to an otherwise chaotic time.
We went to work on a solution, conceiving a design that provided a fully operational bar, cold rooms, amenities, function area and deck overlooking the bowling greens. From conception to completion, we handed over to the insured a stylish clubhouse nicknamed “The Marquee” in under 4 weeks, ensuring ice cold beer was served at the important bowls competition in February.
We were able to negotiate with council to provide Development Approval and a licence to operate the building for up to 24 months as the new club was designed and constructed. A process which normally takes months! All stakeholders were thrilled with the results!
