Mater Hospital Townsville Multi-Storey Carpark

Paynters undertook the design & construction of a new 6 level above-ground carpark at Mater Private Hospital – Pimlico campus, providing a total of 400+ undercover car parking bays, including disabled bays.

Works also included the demolition of the existing Halbestater House, laundry store and carport.

The carpark is the second stage of the hospital’s 10-year $100m master plan. This vital infrastructure for Townsville and the North Queensland region provides safe and secure parking for doctors, staff, patients and visitors at the Pimlico campus.

Townsville Torres Strait Islander artist Gail Mabo’s bespoke piece of Indigenous art stands tall on the façade of the hospital in recognition of the traditions and culture of the First Nations people of North Queensland.
