Salvo’s family fun day and cricket carnival hits a six for success!
Cr Andrew Antonelli, Cr Kerry Silverand Federal Member Shayne Neumann attended the Australia Day celebrations at Riverview Farm and the Salvo’s couldn’t be happier with the turnout from the local community.
The Salvation Army family fun day had plenty to offer families looking for an event with tonnes of free activities for the kids. With free rides, a petting zoo, market stalls, live music, cheap food & beverages, it was a day to be remembered.
The day will provide vital funds for The Salvation Army Red Shield Appeal which supports the many welfare services operating in the Ipswich area. Paynter Dixon Queensland joined forces with the Salvation Army, donating necessities for the Cricket Carnival which ran throughout the day. Our very own PDQ team made the final, however, in a hard fought game it came down to the last ball to determine a winner. Congratulations to Ben Johnson and his Salvation Army team who came away with the shield!
The inaugural Cricket Shield was presented to the winner team, however Paynter Dixon will be back next year to have another crack at the title! Also, a huge congratulations to our very own Jason Douglass who recently made the Queensland Masters Indoor Cricket team and will take on other teams from around the country in an upcoming tournament. We wish him & his team all the best!
