Schools Skill It Up
Students from Australian International Islamic College and Bremer State High School were provided with an opportunity to gain practical experience and immerse themselves in the world of construction and trades, whilst visiting the Calamvale Special School site where Paynters are currently delivering a new multi-storey learning centre.
The Try A Trade Event, in conjunction with CSQ and TAFE Queensland exposed the students to various activities and trades in action and allowed them to learn from skilled representatives across carpentry, concreting, painting and decorating. Their newly acquired skills were put to the test and it was evident that there were some talented future tradesmen!
The students were provided with insightful and valuable career advice on many different pathways within the industry and they even got to see the 4D visual representation of the project to enhance their understanding of the build process from start to finish. This visual was then put into reality as the students were taken on an exclusive tour of the site and also had the unique opportunity to witness their fresh knowledge in concreting being put into practice.
Overall, the Try A Trade Event was a resounding success in exposing the students to the world of construction and empowering them to explore their interests, discover their potential, and consider pursuing rewarding careers in the construction industry. 👷♂️
