Suncorp Spirit to Cure

Last week, six of our Insurance team members embraced the beautiful spring weather for Spirit to Cure – a 21km walk around Brisbane City. Hosted by Suncorp and Tour de Cure, the Spirit to Cure initiative aims to raise money for Cancer research, support and prevention.

Did you know that 2 in 5 Australians will be diagnosed with cancer before they turn 85?

It’s a harsh reality we can’t ignore, and why we were compelled to take part in this cause – with cancer touching the lives of each of us all in some way or another.

Kicking off at Suncorp Stadium the route followed the scenic path along the Brisbane River, passing through New Farm, then looping back via Kangaroo Point and Southbank before returning to the finish line back at Suncorp Stadium.  Despite battling through sore legs and the Brisbane sun, our team supported each other all the way to the finish line.

A massive thank you for all the generous donations received, these contributed to the $1.55 million raised for Tour De Cure, which will make a significant impact in the fight against cancer.
